How to become a PADI Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is the most widely recognized scuba diving qualification worldwide. As a PADI Open Water Diver you will be certified to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18m/60ft anywhere in the world.

The PADI Open Water Course is the entry level course designed for beginners and is open to anyone from 10 years old and who are able to swim at least 200 meters and float for 10 minutes.

During this course your instructor will help you master the two different areas of the PADI Open Water Diver certification: theory and scuba diving practice sessions in water.

Theory with PADI eLearning

The theory is a knowledge development done with PADI eLearning, online at your pace and from your home before you come to El Nido so you can save more time to have fun on your holidays. Anyway, we will be pleased to offer you our assistance during your self-study (if needed).

The PADI eLearning theory is divided in 5 section and it is essential to understand different subjects related to diving such as how scuba equipment works, how diving affects our body when we breathe underwater, etc. You will have to complete knowledge reviews, quizzes and a final exam before arriving to El Nido.

Once you arrive in El Nido, the first day you will meet with your PADI Instructor at 6PM, who will strengthen your knowledge learnt online and also teach you some surface skills such as be familiar with the scuba equipment and how to assembly it.

Practice in water in El Nido

The second and third day of your PADI Open Water Diver course, you will start the scuba diving sessions practice in water. There are 5 confined water sessions and 4 open water sessions. In confined water sessions and open water dives you will learn basic dive skills and how to put them into practice during the dives.

With the constant support of your instructor, you progressively gain confidence in your own dive skills during the training. Besides, our PADI instructors provide teaching in different languages such as Tagalog, English, French, Spanish and German. Just let us know your preference when booking your course.

Just  contact us and we will be happy to help you to book your PADI Open Water diver course.
