Emergency Oxygen Provider: a vital skill, accessible to all

When a diver suffers from decompression sickness or a diving-related injury, the rapid administration of pure oxygen is one of the most effective actions while awaiting emergency services. Knowing how to assemble an oxygen kit, choose the right mask, and administer it correctly can make a decisive difference in the victim's condition.

This entirely practical course — with no diving required — teaches you how to assemble and disassemble an emergency oxygen kit, use different types of masks depending on the victim's condition, and manage oxygen administration independently until emergency services arrive.

This training is useful far beyond the circle of scuba divers: crew members, freedivers, coast guards, or simply anyone wishing to be able to help in an emergency. It's also the ideal complement to PADI Rescue Diver and EFR — and in many professional dive centers, this certification is mandatory for team members. At Aquanaut, emergency oxygen is present on each of our boats: it's best to know how to use it.

Important: This course is open to everyone, with no diving prerequisites and no age limit.

Ideal for:
  • Certified divers looking to complete their safety training (Rescue Diver, EFR)
  • Future Divemasters and diving professionals — often mandatory in dive centers
  • Crew members on diving or navigation boats
  • Freedivers, coast guards, and aquatic rescuers
  • Anyone wishing to be able to intervene effectively in the event of an accident

Course objectives:
